Parma

Parma, Idaho, still offers the kind of hospitality that goes all the way back to the original Fort Boise, which provided rest and comfort to travelers here as early as 1834 along the Oregon Trail.

The City of Parma itself is thriving community, with shops, services, restaurants, churches, a newspaper, and parks. Parma is located at the juncture of two rivers, on the Union Pacific main line, directly on US Highway 95, and just a short jump away from Interstate 84.  This makes Parma the perfect home for growers, shippers, manufacturers, commuters, and travelers to make the most of its location.  A few of the main focuses of the residents in Parma are raising cattle, horses, goats, potatoes, onions, hay, grain and hops.

Parma is surrounded by rich farmland, small business and beautiful homesites.  The opportunities for recreational adventures are endless. Recreationists hunt pheasants, quail, and other upland game birds, while others “stalk” wildlife and beautiful sunsets armed only with cameras!

The University of Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station is located just out of town, and events such as the fall fruit-tasting bring in participants from all over.

Families and children mean a great deal to everyone in Parma.  The Lions Cubs Park has a new toddlers’ play area; America’s Park offers playground equipment for children just a little older as well as a skatepark; and Old Fort Boise Park boasts a fort replica housing a pioneer museum. Parma's City Pool is busy throughout the summer, with a kiddie pool for the youngest swimmers, and water aerobics classes for adults.

Parma Schools are small enough to provide individual attention to every student, and large enough to offer a variety of outstanding programs. Parma High School has been named one of US News & World Reports 2008 Top Schools.  The legacy of a local benefactor Bruce Mitchell has provided over two million dollars in scholarships to PHS graduates and endowed the school in such a way as to make its technology some of the most noteworthy anywhere.

Parma provides a variety of homes that future citizens can chose from, with a cost of living that is affordable for most.  Now is the time to invest your future in Parma and take advantage of all the wonderful things it has to provide along with it's affordable real estate options!
